Writer,
The first thing is you can't show appreciation because that would mean something was going right. These people need to keep their victim status going. In reality, we are the vicitms.

Passionflower,
Ernesto did not turn out to be much. I am just poking fun at the media. They need big storms in a big way. I am glad the thing did not turn out to be very bad.
I am a Louisiana boy so I do know a thing or two about Louisiana and it's politics. Nagin and Blanco are just awful. They needed to get on the ball right from the beginning. The Federal government needs to provide the money and the locals need to get things done. That has not happened. New Orleans needs Gen. Honore again to get things done.

The ingratitude that is so widely aired about Katrina relief . . .
. . . is just sickening. How refreshing it was to have someone in the news recently who actually had the guts to show some appreciation.

You can't tell about tropical storms...
Ernesto could have caused alot of damage - Everyone's thankful that it's mostly just a rain-maker, but you still have to prepare.
Roy Nagin paid the black people in NO $15 each for their votes. That's how he got re-elected. Hopefully, people are watching the politicians in LA to make sure they don't steal all of the federal dollars they get.
