Azur, no comment, lol
Some days I feel more inspired than others. Some days, I guess, I'm just not feeling it. I do like your last line. The thoughts, feelings and experiences of a person are precious, too precious to be used or misused carelessly. Have a great weekend, Azur.

In the news, the CA blogger-reporter who refused feds his pics & info--won!
I respect how you view your duty as a reporter. Many who ought to "inform, educate, entertain or persuade" simply give opportunities to VIPS & officials to get on a soap-box or get free advertising time--not ask about what "happened that day". One wonders why some guests ever get invited on adio?TV shows -- they say nothing, and the interviewer is happy to have their rambling thoughts on the weather, their convictions, their feelings.........when is a government officials "feelings" news, when we have several wars & conflicts in which this country is a prime mover? I guess, Dan Rather's fate scares reporters..............

Azur,
I think most of us here think along the same lines.

Azur--- In our advertising-driven society (the U.S. anyway) nearly
everything that barrages us daily is intended to pull a sale. That's a bit off topic, but a pet gripe of mine. You pushed the right button.

I agree with .dave.
and wouldn't it be nice if there was less distress and more humour? But everyone is different, and they are two sides of the same coin - if you are never sad how do you know you are happy?

The last line is the sharpest, for sure.

i appreciate your sensitivity and mindfulness towards others.
I am not sure I understand you fully, but anyway, hopefully it was not my poem that triggered such thoughts. I get upset when I see mindless journalists on TV asking inane questions in the vein, as (how do you feel to someone who suffered a tragedy) duh!. Tears sell well it seems. I will read you again when my headache has gone, maybe the fog will clear in my head.

azur--
I have done that before, here, in my former rank-chasing days...putting up a post I would have to call a "place holder" that would suffice until I could write something more substantial. Not one of my finer moments, lol.

Taps
I think you write about people but I have never regarded it to be exploitative. Of course none of us can ever be sure what others might think of how we write about them. I have to hold my nose and jump in when writing about people in the newspaper. I do my best but I have never lost nervousness about it

Azur, Yes, sometimes I sense that. Also, sorry to say, I have been guilty of such.

Personal experiences.
Sometimes it is really hard to get something down, but for me usualy it is ok once I get started! Of course for most of us the main problem is finding the time! But I think writing about things that are on your mind is so therapuetic;, I am always telling people that if they have a problem they should write it down. Somehow seeing things on paper helps to clarify them. I usualy write on the Poetry site everyday, but have just started on this Non-fiction site as I have so much I have written, either anecdotes based on personal experiences or chapers from an auto biography I started about three years ago! I have started by posting the shorter pieces but maybe later will serialise the life story.
