Do we know how high the walls will be? What they will be made out of?
How much they will weigh? And, therefore, how deep and large the foundation has to be? This of course depends on what the subsoil is made out of....

Wow... what a fantastic idea...
I do have to mention that you have to check with your town about zoning/construction codes. I know that most parts are more uncaring what you build on your land than here in NJ, but I have a cousin in another area who wanted to build a concrete house. They eventually gave up on the idea, because the town had no existing policies for building codes, etc. for concrete houses. They eventually got tired of the confusion and built a traditional one.
I will have to go look at that website too. Sounds pretty neat...

Julia.,
For sure, I will HAVE to be patient. It's starting to sound as if it will be a longer term project than I thought...

Wiley,
We'll have to get started and sort of figure it out as we go. I'd love to have tunnels. I hadn't thought of that possibility.
We'll not know much until the family castle pow-wow this weekend.
God bless, Wiley!

Have fun!
Once the castle is complete you should sit in one of the turrets and have John shout up from below "Repunzel! Repunzel! Let down your hair!" The oppurtunities for fun are endless.

Whacky,
I'll have to host a big ol' BlogIt party in the castle when it's finished. You're invited!
