Julia,
That's very unfortunate, but some of us never grow up! And it's not like you need them anyway. Rejection will always hurt, but they can' t affect the quality of your life one way or the other, so forget them.

You know, this type of human behavior is one of the most puzzling
to me. I cannot, for the life of me, understand why someone would want to act that way. It makes you want to just kick them in the butt. LOL

truth be told, it wasn't nearly as bad as I had decided it was going to be, before I went. I had pleasant conversation with a few, that's all I needed.

Hidden Lives
I can't help but think how those people, who are snobs to you, act to other people. I think people can and do change, whether they want to or not, in large ways and in small. I hope the rest of the reunion went well. I can't help but think my own high school reunion would be horribly awkward!

This year would've been my 20th high school reunion. I don't think there was one, but if there was, I wouldn't have gone. Out of the 217 in my graduating class (There was only 34 in yours? Hell, there were more students than that in my history class.), there's only one guy I've remained friends with. High school wasn't a hell on earth for me, but most of those people I didn't particularly care for then. No way I'm bending over backwards to get to know them now.

Like a lot of others, I never go to a reuniion. But I'm still friends with the girl I was friends with when we both were 10 and she was the new girl in our class, and I'm still friends with the girl who was my best friend at university. That's what is important. Just ignore the snobs!

Go with an open-mind and have fun!
often snobs are just terribly insecure individuals. ANyway high school is hell for everyone and it is a time where self-loathing is the norm... I hope you will enjoy yourself.

Yep
snobs remain snobs even though they may have lost the right to do so many years ago. I for one do not enjoy reunions even though I have only been to one. I have lost touch with those people and they have made no effort to remain in touch with me. Why then should I be a hypocrite and be all friendly with people who bring nothing fulfilling into my life. BTW I also left home straight after high school to study at a university far from home. The rest of my friends studied at universities and colleges within the home town. I think this developed an independent flair that they could not comprehend.

The Chinese say: (something like this) You take the cow to
Beijing, it's still a cow. ANYWAY, what I meant to say is, the cow is still a cow no matter where you take it to. So, I guess, a snob remains a snob. Agh, I couldn't stand those cheerleaders!

I never see the point of worrying about people who
were never your friends. I go to private reunions with a small group who always were my friends. We can't be bothered with the rest. I saw a teacher from my old school the other day who said that she is going to suggest me for the school's hall of fame. Perhaps when they see that I don't send my child there they might think again
