- Go to I'm playing with my writer's blocks - NOT
Sometimes I've learned the best way to get around writer's block is just write. Oftentimes when I get start to write a blog and get stuck, I jsut wrtie one word then another, and before I knwo it the whole blog is turned around and on acompletely different topic then what I started wiht. The fact that you sense it's related to something more serious though is good. Too many people ignore the most obvious warning signs.

One instructor in a writing class I took
actually it was a marketing class for selling your work, what a publicist does, etc... anyway, the instructor wore a block of wood on a necklace. She kept waiting for someone to ask her its significance, and finally just came out and explained that it was a "writer's block". Hers was painted green, to coordinate with her nice straight line wool skirt and the cardigan set she wore. The class might have been more useful if she'd provided insights for the region in which we lived, contact information, publisher names, etc -- but all she had was 5-year-old stuff about San Francisco. I understand she's still teaching there, but I'm doing my not-selling on my own these days.
