wow...that was a lovely compliment. You have little idea how insecure I am about my poetry...all I know is that it's real. Thank you....you have a beautiful family. And yes, I find that stalling is merely a stage of reflection, a plateau to higher thinking and method. :)

I have seen it over and over with students
I try different approaches and different tactics and nothing seems to work. And then, like you said, it just clicks, often times, when we decide not to try so hard.

I took tennis lessons years ago when I was in my early twenties. I struggled horribly with my backhand. I followed the instructor's directions to the letter, but I simply couldn't get it right. Then out of the blue, it clicked. Whatever the problem was disappeared as if it never existed. To this day, I don't know what I did to fix it or how I did it, and can offer no explanations. I think situations such as this are just unavoidable parts of the learning process. Expecting these plateaus, preparing for them, and not fretting too much when they show is all we can do.
