- Go to Atlantis got back in one piece, fortunately
I was a bit nervous, too.
I find the space station and the shuttle missions very interesting and I think the space program has found a number of very useful things we can use right here on terra firma. Advances in medicine, the effect of weightlessness on bones, etc., may never affect my daily life, but you never know. :)

It was great landing too
I got up just to watch it come in. One astronaut ( Tom Jones) said that the one piece of debris could have been a plastic bag and eluded to the first peanut butter and jelly sandwich floating around in space. I always thought the space junk burned up when it hit the atmosphere. Anyway a picture perfect landing!

kidnykid
I find it odd NASA would name a shuttle Atlantis considering its mythic history. I wouldn't be too anxious to take a ride on a space vehicle named for a city that sank, its inhabitants never heard from again.
