Bluebird, One good thing about posting under Journal category is that it is quite natural to throw in a poem now and then. Its a good, all-round place to write.

I imagine I will get the hang of this stuff eventually. I really am a "computer virgin"

I understand about the not having time, and the guilt. It's late and I'm up
ALONE!
And by the way, you do know that you don't choose just one category, right? I am not clear in that you are limiting yourself to just one blog so as to not become a blogaholic, or if you think you have to choose. You can have as many blogs as you want to, and all different categories, too. Click on any writer's name and you'll see all their blogs listed there, as well as their category. If you haven't already, I may be telling you something you already know.

Thanks you guys
I think I had too much coffee to drink yesterday. Good point about the spell check feature on here. Honestly...I just am not completely comfortable with using a computer yet. It is hit and miss for me. I suppose one is always learning. Take Care

bluebird--
welcome to blogit. you can always write your posts in MS Word and use their dictionary and thesaurus, hehe. As for your category, you can always write poetry in this one, and really...anything else you want. It's your blog!

Bluebird, I am so thankful for spellcheck, it catches most things,
and mostly my typos. I try to slow down, but when I'm on a roll, I really want to just get the idea out and worry about the mechanics later.
You know what they say, "When you write, don't edit and when you edit, don't write". I've come to think they're two separate brain funcitons, one right brain and the other left brain or whatever. Anyway, I know what you mean about the teenage years kind of journals. I hardly ever look back at mine now, but somehow the process of getting it all down is still very therapeutic, trying to clarify my thoughts, and get some kind of insight.
Poetry for me is liberating, too. I can take an image and play with it, and like some kind of magic spell, start to choose the words that have meaning and power. Just some random thoughts. As you can tell, I get a little wordy myself. I hope you enjoy yourself here.
