Hi, swftfox,
I liked the poem, and I also like the description of crisis that you posted at the top of this one. Thanks. :)

Swifffox, I find this poem uplifting and encouraging.
It's true, who would have chosen their battles to fight, but I believe, as Viktor Frankl wrote in "Man's Search for Meaning," when he survived the Nazi camps, and became a counselor to others who did so as well, "That is not what we expect from life, but what life expects from us" that matters most.
The measure of a man or woman, imho, is in how we face our battles and bear our crosses. Carry on, fellow traveler.

Who doesn't feel that way sometimes? It's not just you. That is the very condition of all living beings. Solidarity!

Sorrow and hope
I don’t know what inner or outer battle you’re fighting but if your conviction to see it through is as strong as the piece you wrote, you “shall overcome”.

Expressions so familiar to me...underlying sorrow touched by a ray of hope and drive to fly towards heavens side. Beautiful swtfox, I understand...

Glad U R meeting the challenge-- the archaic words "thine-mine" adds to the
ambience of a scriptural readings: keep the faith as you yourself say, "This is my work to do on earth. Shoulders to the wheel" ( I ied...I added my own words and interpretation). Shalom my friend

Life is tough, isn't it?
Thanks for admitting it in a world where when everyone asks you how you're doing, you're supposed to say "fine." Good luck with your challenge and your writing.

Hi Dave. Strength through poetry is a good force to foster in oneself.
Writing it out and nailing the emotions helps you to forge onward.

Truly excellent, a masterful work, swftfox. Harkens an olde style.
And it holds a universal truth of personal growth...

Sweetie,
Your poem conveys a fighting spirit, strength and character. I would not say joy, but a determination to get through this, bracing yourself for the next day....ok?

Thank you all! What I am in right now has been more than a
"moment of crisis" but for the last four years, but I definitely do hope that this poem conveys a positive note and not a negative or defeatist tone. It was intended to inspire the warrior to greater battle! hahaha.... oh yeah, and to help me remember this tomorrow!

Yes Keep your eyes on God, you are not alone believe it or not. I know how tough it is for you, and no one chooses such hardships, but remember you are not alone, not ever. Just believe it... thanks for reading my poem, you know I just did this on demand by looking at a photograph randomly open on a page. It took me back there in wonderful Venice...
