AbsolutelyPositive, given my choice, I would have enough money to

continue to write and learn, and live comfortably and well, so that finances were never an issue.  I'd have a home with dogs and cats, and my boyfriend.  I read a blurb on the back of a guidebook yesterday, about a couple, in their 50s or 60s, Americans (as am I).

They seemed to have a very nice life, she writes guidebooks and he's a historian, lawyer and writer. I can picture them collaborating on ideas, writings, etc.  I've always wanted an old-fashioned study or library lined with wooden bookshelves, and books I'll never read, but feel at home surrounded by.  Even a fireplace would be nice, with a wingback chair.

I hope you do fulfill your dream of writing essays. I dabble in it myself, and have found how much I need to work on my run-on sentences, fleshing out ideas, etc., but found that essays are what I prefer over fiction, which I thought I would like better before I started blogging, but found that I liked jounals and essays better.

Welcome, I hope you enjoy it and find as much camaraderie and benefit here as I have, over the last 2 plus years.

I want enough wealth to be able to continue learning.
But more than either, I want time. Good for you getting on with the degree now. I love learning as well and will be an eternal student. (Albeit part-time) My feeling though is not that you were too stupid to study when 18 but maybe just not confident enough in yourself or perhaps you hadn't discovered what you wanted to do. Welcome to Blogit - Enjoy.
