Hi TAPS
(I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT THE MIRROW THING) My friends wife talked me, or I should say tricked me, Saying, '' Mick have you seen your eyes, looking over the top of the mirror and not straight in ?'' Well I couldn't believe my face, it looked like it was slowly falling away from my cheekbones, dripping onto the mirror
Never again, so glad you enjoy my poems friend.
But please keep complexion tips too yourself
Mike

lionladroar, I'm laughing because it is all too familiar to me. Sometime back, my sons made me stop playing volley ball because they were afraid I would get hurt, so they said. I think really, they were afraid to play as rough as they really wanted to with me on the team. How I loved volley ball. I was good at it too. And, the mirror--If you want to see something awful when you become 60+, lay the mirror on a low surface and then bend over and look down into it. I guarantee that you won't do it more than once. LOL. I love your work.

Well written, Mike
Very moving and real. It shows that even with support, we still find it hard to cope with unwanted changes.

That aging thing - it stinks
Sounds like you have someone in your life who views you as ageless though. Really enjoyed the poem - your craft was shining.

You survived their rejection, Bravo! Why do we all need others' validation?
a pity and a need: because we love people, and we are interdependent. You are worthy all the time; even without God. That is the eseence of life and teachings from the WEEDS. One man's weed is another person's exotica. Shalom Mike --teach us! Best, Neil

well, I shall admire your poem if I may.
I read the words, and I like what I see, don't need no mirror to see you write beautifully, wistfully, wittily, and riley.... the opening lines especially I love them because of the pictures in my mind and the rhythm. this is mindblowingly original. Ok, too gushy, I can't help it, I just love this poem.
