kingmi, you should see the movie. Actually, the truth of the
"hog" boiling event is even more clear in the book which, by the way, if read, would provide hours of entertainment with many shouts of endorphin producing laughter!

Kingmi
I think somebody maybe would be wise to invite Mr William Jefferson to a 'Hog Boiling' like in 'Fried Green Tomatoes'. I hope you saw the movie, it was so wonderful.

Wait. Blanche, you talking about Foley here?

Not only has he been removed from the committee chair, but he's no longer a congressman and is sequestered like a coward in some alcohol detox facility.  Or did I misunderstand your comment????

Foley is now a "has been", a "former", an ex "congressman", etc.  However, that said, I'm sure he will still qualify for all the wonderful pension plans (for the rest of his life) that members of the House and Senate voted on for themselves.

AMEN, Brother Kingmi, I am so with you there.
A captain goes down with his ship, and he should just be glad that he's not old-school Japanese.

Blanche, Hastert should have had his ass canned, and he knows it.

posted by kingmi on October 8, 2006 at 6:43 PM | link to this | reply

Well, Kingmi, Dennis Hastert could remove him from his committee chair
so that he doesn't have access to the files of missing and exploited children.  That would be a start.

JanesO & Blanche, Like it or not, pedofilia is an epidemic. These people
are everywhere, in every profession, including education and government.  There is no plan for them, no treatment facilities, and no cure.  Knowing what they knew about his predator behaviors, was someone watching him, maybe for medical reasons?  Somebody's got to do something!

Not merely mouthinng, JanesOpinion, I find it appalling that Foley was and
possibly still is Committee Chair for the House Committee On Missing And Exploited Children.  It sounds like a shopping list for pedophiles, to that much access. Frightening.

Yeah, you and Morris may be right, Kingmi.

I do find it rather amazing that the Dems are nattering on about this when they have gotten away with similar scandals even more appalling.  However, that said, it most certainly does not justify what Foley did.  Especially since he was mouthing on about protections against child predators.

I'm going to keep an open mind and a wait and see attitude until the election.  Who knows?

We shall see, Kingmi, that's an open question.
An interesting race, though, no?
