Hi Tony
Great feeling of family ties in warmth, with the childhoods of now and yesteryear and the gathering  in memory. Well wrote

Sonnet 36
That's a good idea, plant a tree in memory of daddy. I hope it will soothe your aching heart through the years.

Thanks to you all - I had a good day..
It's a happy tribute, I hope. Let's always look on the positive side, even after loss!

Admirable! The way you can so beautifully and tecnically correctly pay tribute to your father. I'm sure he must've been proud of your talent, and also must have blessed you on the day of your visit.

Tony, this is really emotive - I especially like these two lines:

With half a life enshrined in memory,

And half a life left, all experience saved..

Nice intermingling of themes with a touch of nostalgia.
And the tribute to your Dad, of course, which particularly touched close to home.  I lost my Dad eight years ago and still think of him and my grandfather every day.  I've written tributes to both of them over the years and still it never seems quite enough for what they meant to me.

What a lovely tribute to your father
both the poem and the tree planting.  You,too, speak of things that relate to most of us.  Thanks for your accolade today, Tony.

Thank you my friends
I am glad I took the day off work and did this today (or yesterday, now, seeing as it's after midnight). I've also sent the sonnet for today to my sister who I was walking around with looking at a few old haunts, and a load of pictures I took. Pity I can't upload any of them. If anyone wants to see them, please email me. The place I come from is beautiful. There is also a pic of me and my brother and sister, outside of our old school, and a pic or two of Sebastian, my brother's baby son, who has just had his first birthday, and has a seemingly endless appetite!

Good work Tony.

It's a day I dread so I find it comforting that your Dad still brings you all together even after he's gone.

Well done mate.
