Tony
Entertaining as always.  Quickly done is the best way I find.  Besides, I' dont know what Spenserian is :).

Be Lucky,

Tony,
I like "the half-drunk gods above" - very Ovidian. I think you have a secret classical bent there.

Like Nietzsche said, "Eternal life’s a drag". Anyway, but this mortal life’s the funniest gag! I've at one time lost a fortune in stock market. No. you don't get a second chance.

Knock. knock!

Who's there?

Fortune!!

Cant be ?

Why not?

Fortune knocks only once.

A hilarious sonnet, this one. Have you had yuour first luck?

Half-drunk because of me
I had a good day today, I guess that means I may be one of those that the half-drunk gods smile on... but probably only because I'm the one that makes their wine.  Hope you had a good one.

MC and Star - Thanks
We should be called typists, not writers, shouldn't we? The new novel by that great 21st-century TYPIST, Orhan Pamuk, ....

Good evening / morning (delete as applicable)

Thanks MC. Your pen never dries up! Merci beaucoup pour votre encouragement! Good bit of Frenglish there. Mind you, encouragement sounds quite Gallic, doesn't it?

Frankly (Mr Shankly) yes, this is something what I wrote. Does it sound Welsh? Well I have some Welsh ancestry, so yes, maybe it is!!

....who wrote it? Did you? Sounds Irish...Welshish....

Tony, ha ha caught you in the act! what are you writing here!

It’s parcelled out by half-drunk gods above,
Who find it funny to give all the love
To some, but not enough to me. Well f***
Them! They say that eternal life’s a drag
Anyway, but this mortal life’s the funniest gag!

I love these last lines, very clever...my friday has been and gone, and the gods did not p... on me.

Superstition
should only work my way
any time I play I win
friday don't make a dent
in my hopes
my day is over
and yours has hardly begun
how come???
did the sun
forget his hat
and stay in the shade
of the moon
or had a quiet snooze
by the pool
in the noon light
now I am thoroughly
confused...
please sun
shade some light
on my dim hat
cuz I'm no so bright
bright as you
on a cloudy day...

My brain started to drip...
and I had to mop up the lines
before they oozed all over the page
and caused a haemorrhage
and brought you in a rage...
