SuccessWarrior
Meeting would probably ruin it for some if we discovered the Blogit personality doesn't quite fit the live and in-person one. This may result from a reader's tainted image or the writer presenting a less than accurate assessment of themselves. Maybe a little of both. There are a few bloggers I'd like to meet. I'd love to sit down one day with you, Gomedome, a good bottle of hang-over and shoot the shit.

People are always mysteriously disappearing off those big boats.

I always try to meet any bloggers who live in areas where

I'm traveling. I've also slept with a few bloggers...probably would have been more if not for geographical obstacles...LOL!

I've had coffee and just chatted with some.  I like meeting people though. I also enjoy dating.

There are a few bloggers here that I have become friends with..
I have said before, I'm sure that we would be friends in "real life" too..

It would probably make the news...
Since so many of us like going "overboard" so much....

A Blogit Cruise?

I don't know Shy. I imagine that in the future,
I will make a point of meeting some of them.  It may not be as many as I would like but I think it will happen.

Good idea? Bad idea? Who knows? We will probably never know how it will be
to meet other bloggers.

Julia, a Blogit convention. That would be cool.

Blanche, the one thing that I wouldn't want is...
to ruin a good thing.  I'd hate to meet someone I like on Blogit and then not like them in person and have that come back here.  I don't think it would happen but it is a possibility.  I think it would just add an extra dimension and make it a more tight knit community.

If you fly here nude I'm not sure I would want to meet you at the airport!

for a very long time, we've bandied about the idea of a convention,
and even begged Blogit to throw us one. On the one hand I think it would be really great--but on the other, as you say--it very well could wreck everything!! I dunno...

I've thought that same thing, SuccessWarrior, I was trying to describe

blogging to a stranger I met yesterday, and the thing that dawned on me is how many friends I have here who, a, I have no idea what they look like or sound like and so wouldn't know if I passed them on the street, and b, have no idea of their real identities.

I'm sure if would change things to meet Talion or any one of us (and I don't want to name names for the same reason you've just given, but you already mentioned Talion, and he's on my short lies of favorite bloggers anyway.   I think that the freedom to talk about personal things might change, but that getting to meet someone "in the flesh" would just add another dimension. I could see if my imaginary personal image of them fit at all. Fun.
