That Blogger Montaigne.

Dear AbsolutelyPositive, It is my opionion, that Montaigne was lucky to be born wealthy and influencial in his time, though that was more than 400 years ago. He was lucky that he does not have to do domestic work and earn a living which he was able to write and observe many things. Many successful people in that time of Renaissance are wealthy which gives them time to write. Imagine if those people got hold of a computer and web connection like us.

Thank you for your comments about the merman. As you have said it has a rib cage which would be difficult for it to breath underwater. You could be right, but in many myths, they live in underwater caverns and stay much time on the surface rather than underwater. I really don't know the truth but I guess I have to say something from my little knowledge about myth and legends.. regards.. Prof
