- Go to My books are like old friends
I feel the same, AP. I have roughly 2000 and I won't sell or give away any
of them. Or trade them. They are like that old shirt you just can't throw away because you like it and it's comfortable. It's you.

Hi
Ah, a kindred spirit. I also have about 6 bookcases chocoblock full of books and that's not counting the boxes full of books. I applied to go to the UK a while ago and was almost relieved when they said no 'cos I'd been worrying about what I'd do with my books and my cat. I tried selling some of them but just used the money to buy more so my suggestion would be to try and move them with you. Replacement costs would be high.

I have hundreds of science fiction novels that I purchased for a friend that was..... um, detained by the state for a period of time. I bought used books and had them direct shipped, and he sent them to me when he was finished reading them.
I didn't have as much time to read as he did. Now it's my retirement fund. I'm waiting till I retire to read them all. Once I've read a book I rarely keep it, there are exceptions though.

Same as here, I drag my library with each move, except
when I made a move in 1990. I had to fly from country to country an I donated my books to others.

A P
I keep most of my books with me wherever I move to - it is hard letting them go. However computer books usually end up in the trash a year after they've been purchased :).
Be well,
