Precisely that, Tony.

Tony, all my books are to hand
and some are more to hand than others - Bill is never too far away.  I knew the quote but had to look up the exact reference.  I do know people though who know such things, chapter and verse.. left-brainers perhaps.

Hello Star
No, his name was Ram Babu.

Thanks, Bhaskar. So he couldn't have healed my aches?

Why is that, because I wasn't willing it through my own faith?

Tony
Your felicity with words aptly describe the humor of the situation. I can tell you that he could not have. So no need to nurse such doubts. And yes, you can easily do away with god's existence or non-existence. It's not even necessary to bother about, but over time we shall discuss the issue in a somewhat different light altogether.G'nite, friend.

Thanks, you three!

PF - Unfortunately I have had no direct contact with God, so from my point of view I can't say that I know he does or does not exist. Some others say he does, and some others again say he doesn't. I am glad that you have a relationship with God. It's something i've been unable to do. But who knows about the future?

MC - Thanks for your supportive comments. In some ways, compared to others' certainty, when they have strong faith, it's easy for me to feel a little blind. Why can't I see? But if I can't, I can't! I'm not going to pretend I see - I have to really see and feel and know.

Mneme - Yes, indeed. I'm impressed you quoted the exact chapter and verse location of that quotation. Did you have a book to hand, or is it burned into your brain?

Tony,
"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio / Than are dreamt of in our philosophy." (Hamlet, 1.5:168-9)  - what more can one say?

tony, what a great sonnet full of wonderful questions...
Passionflower, alleluia, you got healed! Tony, Christians are people too, sometimes they get it right, but they can also get it wrong...don't let that put you off, use your common sense as in all things. God does heals, Jesus does live in people's hearts, it is real to them and me... Believing is seeing, not the other way around, Jesus refused to perform miracles in his home town, because his people would not believe anyway.... will talk some more later...

Let me put your mind and your wondering to rest....

There definitely IS a God. I talked to him this morning. He and I have a long, complicated relationship.

I have also been in some of those healing meetings. Once I got healed of an ulcer. I've always been exceptionally thankful for that healing because I used to get sick if I would eat anything spicy.

Also, I got healed of heel spurs. Have you ever had heel spurs? I had them for years and the doctor would put a shot of cortizone or something like that in my heels every 6 months. The shot was really painful but it helped and then one time at a healing meeting, Jesus healed my heels.
