Well told story...
This very thing -- a driver not seeing the pedestrian in her blind spot at a corner -- is why I always wait and make sure I have eye contact with the driver before I walk out onto the crosswalk.  I'm glad your car was ok, I don't think most of us look good in courthouse orange.  :)

I'm glad you controlled yourself. And that she had such a girlie kick.

I would have battled to keep my cool as well and it would have

been very difficult to suppress the urge to go back and shout at her or kick her back! LOL Thank goodness you do not have a dent!  Unbelievable.  Maybe she hurt her foot! That would be great without your revenge!  HA Ha

Julia, holding back is always tough. Many times I've done so. Sometimes not

Quirky has come out and become Julia...
Cool, I hope you are doing well. The car kicking thing would piss anybody off, but there are some advantages to everyting being made of synthetics these days. If your car was twenty years old, it would have been jacked. See, I might have gotten into trouble over that one, glad you restrained yourself and nice use of headline...peace...

Of course of that, I have no doubt.

Julia., that reminds me of an incident that I witnessed from my office

years ago.  Two women were attempting to make an illegal left turn onto a one-way street, realizing that she had taken a wrong turn, and was about to turn the wrong way into oncoming traffic, the driver, backed up, summarily, without stopping to look behind her.

At that moment, another woman was then in the crosswalk, when she was nearly backed up on by the SUV, which the first woman was driving.  The woman in the crosswalk was teed off and heated words, which I would only imagine, since I was three stories above ground level and getting a birds' eye view, were exchanged. Finally, the woman in the crosswalk threw a bottle into the passenger's side of the car, gashing the passenger, a third woman, and causing a head wound.

The driver took off on foot after the bottle thrower, who took off first, but was restrained by witnesses to await the police.

The best part was the retelling by our receptionist, who was the "cousin" (dubious relationship, but more fiction than blood relation) of the woman who did the bottle throwing.  In her version, her "cousin" was blameless, and the "bottle did whatever".  Now, when  my boyfiriend and I talk about a lack of personal responsiblity or ethics, we use the code phrase, "the bottle did whatever".  still cracks me up.

And yeah, good thing you didn't go back, orange is probably not your color.

That must have been scary nearly hitting her, after stopping and looking and not seeing her. I always drive extra intentively especially at night, fearing I won't see someone who is walking in the road.  I know that can happen.  Anyway, she sure got bent out of shape, but it is good you listened to your inner voice to keep your cool. That must have been one big emotional day all around!
