LOL! I agree with you - you're not being cranky
You're absolutely right - the drug companies really do rake it in with the unconscionably high prices they charge for their drugs. It's to the point where private insurers are starting to catch on that they have leverage. (Unfortunately, the Mom and Pop pharmacies are really losing business because they don't bill insurers directly for prescriptions as chains like Walgreens do.) I'm not saying that some medications aren't necessary - just that they're overpriced, and in the case of antibiotics, sometimes overused (to the detriment of the health of the population).

the drug companies will have to lose a lot of cash for
a lot of years before they actually start losing.  IMHO they've been raking it in for the last 50 years, like the oil companies who've been making the highest profits ever over the past year.  And they're heartless - millions could be helped in the Third World if they'd send meds at cost, but they have to make their profit margin.  I'm just cranky this a.m.  I must have a pill for that somewhere...
