FranklyMyDear, no one seems to give a damn -- about the truth, about
reality, about accountability, about responsibility.  All that you point out is true, and Fernandez was correct in his assessment of U.S. policy with regard to Iraq, forced (and you know it was forced) retraction or no.  And the blatant gall with which the Bush administration proffers lie after refutable lie to keep its conservative base hypnotized is amazing.  They still have WMDs; we just haven't found them yet.  He has never been "stay the course"; then who the hell kept saying that?  He never said "Mission Accomplished"; just announced that major military operations were over in Iraq.  Fighting them over there, so we don't fight them over here; and how many terrorists and suspected terrorists keep getting arrested here in the U.S.?  America, wake the hell up and smell the poppies.

And about conscience, WaterKat. Who needs a conscience when you have a
red line to god.  The simpleton is divinely mandated.

Turning the othe cheek has only worked for Jesus and a few monks. It is a
grande philosophy that only works in a world where ill is done by mistake and forgiving reciprocity a matter of course.  We do not live in such a world.

the US dilomat who retracted his statement..
...where he said the US was "stupid and arrogant" in the way Iraq is handled...a perfect description of Rumsfeld, who Nixon once told that he'd never let him be sceretary of state because he's too "unfair"...but bozo Dubya came a waltzin' in and...,,oh well, the whole subject is so fantasically stupid, all of it is stupid and all of it is arrogant...the Bush admin, how the election was stolen (who's to say those electronic ballots won;t be rigged again for a Rep win on Nove 7th?), how hte US public allowed Iraq to happen in the first place and keep on happening, how the US departed Afghanistan where the real terrorists were hiding and truend Iraq into a terrorist grad school......blows my mind...why is the US public not falling all over htemselves to get rid of these guys? where's the riots? the protests...and now Bush is said to be muzzling the environmentalists? Really? Good oil men muzzle enviromentalists? Huh. I didn;t know that. Hey, have you heard that SAddam has big ole bombs buried somewhere in bunkers that can only be reached with nuclear weapons? Be afraid people. If you are not afraid, then you must be against us, right?

And when has being a Christian kept men of power from being assinine,
venal, megalomaniacal, and corrupt, WaterKat?  Besides, he's on a mission from god, so he's exempt from all that extraneous humanitarian crap...
