I am going over tomorrow to help her, provide a listening ear, whatever. I cannot imagine what she is going through now.

TAPS, such events make me all the more thankful for the kind and loving
parents I had. I have been blessed and spoiled. I would wish the same treatment for all humans.

JanesOpinion, abuse is such an ugly and horrifying thing to see or to read about. If one has not experienced it for themselves, I think it is beyond imagination to picture the far-reaching effects on the rest of one's life.

My dear ladychardonnay, I completely concur.
We talked more today -- there have been many other times when violence/abuse occurred. It is so very sad.

when i hear of these stories
it is something i cannot cannot comprehend. yes - i yell at my kids for doing something wrong - they have been smacked on the butt when they were little - i have been careful to say " what you did was stupid" instead of you are stupid. but when i hear of these horrible stories i just cry inside.
