Xeno-x, great hearing from you! Hey, it will take decades. It is miraculo
us that such a backward nation could be brought from dictatorship, poverty, mass murder, repression and suppression into free and open government which they may vote to change at any time, in just three short years.   Try to see the global perspective -- you know, the big picture.

clear majority? hardly

My problem with the Democrats as far as Iraq is concerned, is that they don't give us some of the real possibilities were this war to continue.

We would lose.

our youth and economy already are being drained -- we are being harmed.

the battle there has nothing to do with terrorism.

terrorist will still target the U.S. somehow.

they do have part of what they want, U.S. people being killed, and a drain on the economy.  this is doing what they would have a problem doing by the usual means of bombing, etc.

and there is no clear strategy.  All I see is that the U.S invaded, overthrew Saddam, thought the war would be over by defeat of the regular Iraqi military.  Now we are engaged in a guerrerilla war, like Vietnam.

Bush's bunch thought they could just install a new government and everything would be fine.  only thing is, reality set in.  the government installed seems not to be representative of the country as a whole.

just a few months ago, the military sent out a memo saying in essence that about 70% of Iraq is dangerous -- not to be traveled in.,

Even now, it's dangerous for Americans to travel outside the "Green zone".

all we get are nebulous words and ideas in response.

"stay the course" and "get the job done"   what do those mean?  the end is so nebulous and virtually unattainable.  It would take decades to succeed.

and now we want to war with Iraq and drag the entire world into it too.

basically, we have an entire population of over a billion people who are sympathetic to Iraq and Iran -- why don't we inflame them further and embroil the world is the greatest war it has ever seen and incur unparalleled devastation?

hey!  that's the ticket!!!  - reminds me how much Bush lied to get our young people killed over there and our economy going down the drain in ruin.

for sure.
