Mike's metaphor of the evening as a "lady", enchanting & dazzling, is high

poetry and ambitious. I suggest edit for punctuation as in "Mother Natures   " where Nature's needs the apostrophe. I love the following fresh lines but I wonder if "quite" really ought to be QUIET (spelling/homonyn) and "self-assuring" might not be "self-assured". In fact, I would say "Quietly self-asuuring" OR "Quiet assurance" because it removes the confusing usage. I agree AMBIGUITY is great when called for, but this is not one of those cases, it seems to me. Overall, much enjoyment for this reader. Shalom

"Sweet acceptance, joyful birth

our inner marriage

soul and Mother Earth.

Quite and self reassuring

drinking in the still.

Before the night "

Hello Mike
A totally justified paean to that most glorious of things, the sunset. And I like the royal overtones. What is closer to real royalty than the sun or the earth in union?

lionladroar, There is no lovelier union than sunset and the ocean.

Lion,
I just wrote another poem as a thank you for the lovely pics you sent me. I hope you dont mind. Don't take it too personally, the blue eye picture I found very haunting so I made up this poem as a response. Nothing to it, it is just to show that I like your painting/photo.

Wow! is all I can say and more...
beautiful metaphore and the personification works beautifully, it flows well, like the gown you depicted. A royal feast for the eyes my friend!
