johnmcnab, now you've got me wondering
believe me, recreation is very sedate around here, it's of the mental kind - this similarly frail person doesn't get out much.

Blanche, yes, navy and black are a no-no
so why do people wear navy tops with black bottoms, or vice versa... must be dark in the bedroom.

I agree with you that one must make time for the finer things ...rat races
are fine, "if you are a rat, or aspiring to be Rat Numero Uno in the dough." Smile and enjoy

I have a basket of unmatched socks to match, Mneme, it's like a game
of "Concentration", matching them, just have to be sure not to match navy with black, that looks very bad.

Mneme, he'd be a bit of a withered wether then. Ta for the definition.
I shall remember that now. With a wince.

mneme, thanks for sharing your day.
I hope the socks will be reunited soon...it would break my heart you know. I have to go to sleep now, not a repeat of last night I hope or I will come back to haunt you again. I did get out of the house for a few hours on my wobbly legs. I believe I am going to be much better in a few days. I hope you did not mind the jokes about your hubby, I realized everyone was so serious with their comments on your poem. Well, you know what I think anyway. Good night for now.

Dave, I'm impressed. Yes it's a sheep. A castrated ram, to be precise (of course I had to go and look it up). Pedantic, moi?

Plus - I never put trousers on.
It annoys the neighbours.

If she was a sheep farmer, she could give you a wether report too.

(That is a type of sheep, isn't it - I didn't check - if it's a cow, the joke's lost)

Oh, that's right.. men can't pair off socks. Well, you can't.. we'd need to take a sock poll. And then ask questions about who does/doesn't walk around wearing socks with shirts before they put their trousers on.

Not a weather report as such
more a 'whether' report - whether to have shredded wheat or porridge, whether to have a cup of tea or coffee, whether to go to the shops or read a book, whether to paint the spare bedroom for the royal visit.. (sorry mum, you're a good sport).

Mneme, I hope your mother gave you a detailed weather report.
Don't talk to me about socks.

Hi Dave
the tumble dryer did a fine job. It was pretty scary out there in laundry land but I'm back safely. Only two odd socks, and one t-shirt suffered the crooked shape that will never go back no matter how many times you iron it.
PS my mother is fine too (long phone call. Good thing we get cheap oveseas rates).

Mneme, can you please return to tell us whether the tumble dryer expedition
worked out OK. I may have to leave the screen too, but I'll warn you if I do.
