LOL. We have a house like that, Whacky, and I'm thinking of washing the outside with a power washer before the winter comes. Your post has given me second thoughts.

whackster--
new curtains can really brighten up a place. I'm moving in a few days and have six windows I need to "do." It will be fun, hopefully not too expensive!

I'd forgotten all about that old saying. My curtians seem to be holding up well for now. Glad you got your problem solved and the sunroom is bright and clean.

I have some nice clean curtains
I also had some thin cotton voile ones which slowly faded and became so delicate they disintegrated when I touched them.

My parents also had a look
that had us confessing to "crimes" we may have or may not have done. Sorry to hear about the curtains, at least it sounds as if you made a plan though. Mrs Tanga is a stipler when it comes to cleanliness. No dirty curtains in my house

I haven't heard that saying for years..but I remember it...
No I clean my curtains or change them about every 3 months. I get bored. Next time you have that much energy come on over though...

LOL -- loved the bit about the dust being the only thing holding those
poor curtains together. I'll keep that in mind when I go to wash my own. Perhaps I should just save myself the trouble and buy some new ones!!! Actually, truth be told, my front porch has no curtains, and the furniture out there is definitely fading. However, most front porches around here seem not to have curtains. Don't know why. Not that I'm trying to fit in with "the crowd." Just an observation I've made.

I simply have to say (lie): "I heard from (someone) that you did
something, are you going to tell me about it?" And then this person I know would start confessing to everything. It is a lot a fun. I guess I meant to say that I identify more with your mother.

Whacky, "it's curtains for you", sounds like an old Jimmy Cagney line
or something, as he's blasting away. I love the way your meditation on curtains comes full circle, that's something I do, meditate on something and wonder all kinds of things. We don't have curtains, just venetian blinds, except for two sheer panels across the top of the kitchen and bedroom windows, more for effect than anything.
