What a lovely childhood memory
of friendship, commitment, and undying love.   There's both innocence in the memory and maturity in the telling.

Admiration nothing more ?
It is great honour mam receiving admiration from other human beings , especially writers and poets. Thank you Marieclaire. Mike

thanks,
I think I followed your train of thoughts, but I appreciate the sentiment in any case. I agree with all you said, although i am not entirely certain I understood everything correctly. I cannot help but appreciate people, it cannot be such a bad thing after all, as long as i leave at that, admiration of sorts nothing more.

Marieclarie your Opinion is your soul in thought !
To agree out of respect is human mam, to enjoy because they frill you , or you might have soft spot for them, is also human, but to admire because they touche you, your inner you, in what ever they do is special, it as become your opinion. Mike

lion,
and that love won't go unappreciated. some men are ratbags though, and women can be bi... well as you say, battles inside us and outside... well said. Your simplicity of heart is much appreciated, you say it like it is, no pretence on your part. I am sorry to be so gushy again. When I see something good in someone I tell, regardless of who they are, do you think it is wrong?

You sound like a perfectly balanced individual, Mike.
Those men who don't understand femaleness are missing out with the ladies!

I have also experienced the no !  For the opening of the door , a few Christmases ago. Battles of the sexes inside us and between us ? We will always find amongst us a day or two, maybe even three, when we snap for no apparent reason ! Women Will always be loved by men, its in our Levies Mam. Mike

have you heard of the expression "metro man"?
It is this new brand of masculinity, mixing male pride with lashings of aftershave, vanity and maleness... a kind of new awareness I guess. I don't want men to turn into sissies either, I think tough cookie on the outside, marshmallow in the inside does it for me...It must be difficult for guys to understand women's expectations of them, because women are full of contradictions, they want to be protected, cajoled and want this tough guys but they also want tenderness. I guess men have to be true to themselves and now they are brave enough to show a more tender side, it is probably a good thing. I heard of a woman feeling insulted because some guy opened the door for her...she thought she was big enough to do it herself. stupid woman I thought.

In all honesty Marieclaire
The first time I heard of the fraise (A MANS FEMALE SIDE ) was David Beckham's wife Posh Spice , mention it, on one of the reasons she loved him so much. For me it answered the question why so many of my rugby playing friends ridiculed me , for writing poetry, they looked upon it as un masculine. Now days you would be surprised just how many shave off all their body hairs and rub into themselves so many forms of skin protecting creams and ointments after a bruising game of rugby . Before they make their way to the night clubs, too read poetry in the ladys ears. Mike

Lion,
Your poetry touches my heart, words are not just mere words, they speak a different language to each of us, some words speak more than others, I don't know why, they just do. You are a true poet at heart. It is full of sincere simplicity and lovely images...ok that's enough. Now I am embarrassed.

what wonderful memories...so cute.
the innocence of childhood revisited, sweetly recalled with such tenderness...I can't believe you are a guy, well take it as a compliment, I thought all men were macho men wielding the saw, hammering nails...
