Seasonal Solace---thank you so much for your comment!
It is-'finding out'-(possibly in therapy)-what the 'child's feelings' were at the time of any given event during childhood! The Masks we wear to prevent being hurt when we are not allowed to speak out as a child-push any feelings-deeper and deeper inside-until after many years of habitually 'denying'-we really don't know where we are going and the effect this has on everyone around us -(as adults)-so this type of work is a MUST-ffor building futures/relationships etc. God bless-Chris.(really too much to say all-here.)

Given me time to reflect
This poem is a pure gem, with meaning beyond the words...I like to be able to read between the lines. Somewhere, somehow, we should all find our perpetual child; only they can deal with some of the issues we face in adulthood. Pure brilliance Chris.

AbsolutelyPositive-thanks for your comment---
I agree with you completely-the 'Inner Child' work DOES make it possible and easier-to release and recogniose-much of the emotions! I believe that it is far more 'safely' attained with good support to hand-to be able to offload/discuss all that 'comes up'.Thanks again-Chris.

As adults we all wear a mask to cover up our inner pain
I think 'working with the inner child' may be helpful in releasing some of the pain. It's not good to keep it all inside.

.Dave.-just in case you pop in here again---
the 'work' that I have experienced on myself-was with a very well qualified Wynicotian trained Therapist-who's been brilliant with me! Naturally it is 'working with the inner child'-because that's where it all began! God bless-Chris.

Thanks for your comment Greenfields.
I was-(at one time)-trained in the Penny Parks 'Inner Child' therapy-and it worked so well! I also obviously-did additional training-but was very pleased with the I.C. methods-very valuable.Chris.

Well written
I also do an exercise with my patients where I 'release' the inner child.  It is very beneficial to all adults.

Nice Poem
My cousin is adopted and he met up with his family for the first time a few years ago. He made great friends with his sister, but people started teasing him about incest and he stopped seeing her. A very complex issue.
