Thanks, Wavy. But Wal-Mart Johnny and his antics are hysterical.

One more comment on the Edwards/Wal-Mart fiasco:
Came across a comment over the weekend to the effect that it was very unseemly for Little Jack Edwards to be criticizing his friend (?) for shopping at Wal-Mart, given his daddy's millions of dollars. Kind of like putting down other kids for drinking Tang, the remark ran, because they don't have a butler squeezing fresh juice for them on demand.
Just another indication of the Democrat leaders being way out of touch with us lowly serfs and peons.

You two need to lighten up!
Let's review. The story is not about Wal-Mart. It's about the spectacle of a leading opponent of Wal-Mart being caught in a goofy situation. Why is it that liberals have so much seeing humor in flat-out absurdity? If I can laugh at President Bush's adventures in English, then surely you two can laugh at one of your own as well.
If you think this is all I've got, you need to spend some time reviewing the last couple of years of writing. And, with the newly elected Democrat majority in Congress chomping at the bit to take this country to deep left field, there will be lots and lots more.
Blanche, some of you comments about alleged working conditions at Wal-Mart sound like my job for a non-profit. Not union there, either. But if conditions at Wal-Mart are so horrible, why do so many people choose to work there? No one is forced to work for them.
I'm no big fan of Wal-Mart myself, but I shop there for certain items because their prices are affordable on our low, non-union wages.
And, by the way - the Democrats can complain loud and long about Wal-Mart, but you can bet your Thanksgiving dinner they aren't complaining a bit about the tax revenues generated by those billions of dollars in profits. Kind of like the liberal approach to tobacco - do your damndest to ban smoking, but make a plethora of government programs dependent on tobacco taxes.

I'm sorry, Writeroflight, but I fail to see what is funny about Walmart, as
rich as it is, having gotten rich off the backs of American labor, exploiting its employees and Chinese and illegal Mexican labor, not paying it's fair share of taxes. That's called GREED, Writer, and in my book, that is not a joke.
Also, what is so amusing about the idea of not giving unpaid lunch breaks as entitled by Liberal-made laws to employees who are on their feet for 12 or more hours?
What else is so funny about driving American business overseas?
Am I missing the joke here, because I am sharing the guffaws.

Edwards was just showing some BI-partisanship
Edwards was just trying to help his fellow Congressman Foley get a PS3 to use to lure teenage boys to his "cool pad" since Foley doesn't have access to the Congressional pages' dorm anymore.
Really, is this all you've got? A staff VOLUNTEER tried to name drop in order to cut in line and get a PS3 from much-maligned Walmart? It wasn't even Edwards himself, you nimrod. Compare this to Delay's using Homeland Security to track down wayward Texas legislators, so that he can re-district (gerrymander) Texas 8 years early, or Nay taking thousands from Abramoff, or Foley trying to "seduce" teenage boys and Hastert covering for him. You really want to make this your cause celebre?
BTW, I thought you righties disapproved of illegal immigration. Didn't Walmart admit to using illegals on its janitorial staff last year? Surely, the biggest, most successful company on earth can at least hire LEGAL workers. Oh, as a pre-emption, it doesn't matter that Walmart "sub-contracted" out the cleaning crews; they were paid for by them. It's a distinction without a difference.
