2 more puzzles...
But just think - had you bought two more puzzles - you might have still "owned" all the pieces - including the 2 extra ones from your first "great buy"!      Great story!!

I got a 1,000 piece puzzel and ended up with

two spaces and two pieces that didn't match the spaces. Isn't that strange?

QuirkyJ., Reminds me of how much I used to enjoy puzzling...:)

Hmmm, clues perhaps to a bigger picture unseen. I have no idea what I mean by that, the words just spoke, lol.

You should have had her use flat rate shipping
it's a ton cheaper.

Julia
I can't imagine trying something like that right now. There would be pieces eaten, used for improvised tools, and such. It would be very frustrating. Have a great Thanksgiving.

Julia.

Hi julia.  I love putting puzzles together. When I was about 12 years old I spent many hours by myself down in our basement putting puzzles together and playing solitary.

Hubby and I put puzzles together a lot before we got all these cats.  We would leave it out and just work it together off and on.  I can picture paws sticking his little paw up there on the table and knocking them pieces off one by one.  Haha

I imagine we could leave one out and just put a thin board over the top, couldn't we?  I do miss putting them together.

Do you have a problem putting up a Christmas tree because of your pets?  How do you work that?  Last year, we put one up and took it down shortly after.

  Postage is high, isn't it?

I enjoyed reading your post, Julia.  Take care!

It is sad when that happens, Julia, a friend of mine's mother tossed his
entire prized and expensive collectible comic collection while he was in Vietnam in the Marines. How cold is that?

It is an interesting hobby.

Offbeats--
yeah, that's par for the course. But get this--one time I opened a BRAND NEW puzzle, and I was still missing one piece when I finished it. lol. I actually think it's on the floor somewhere, behind the couch, table, wherever. lmao.

Troosha--
I think it is one of those things, you either have the patience for it or you don't. I am like your daughter, I can't really do the puzzles with anyone else because they drive me crazy. lol.

Jemmie--
the Pogo puzzle game won't work on my computer, dang it! I just did a 3-D puzzle of the Taj Mahal...it was way cool.

My daughter had/has an obsession with jigsaw puzzles.
I, on the other hand, have little patience for them. I used to try and assist her and she would see me struggling with a piece and look at me as though I was blind. She would gently take it out of my hand and place it where her mind’s eye had already determined it belonged. This was at 5 or 6 and she was doing 1,000+ piece puzzles. I was amazed.

I LOVE puzzles too!
Do you play jigsaw detective on pogo?

I love the Bits and Pieces catalog too!  Lots of puzzles in there!

I am waiting to get my hands on a 3-D puzzle.  Can't wait to tackle one of those!

I told my friend which ones to donate and which ones I wanted to keep, and she sent those. It still cost $17 to ship six measly puzzles!

Maggie--
I like mine extra extra difficult! lol. My only problem is the cats are always jumping on the card table and messing the puzzle up.

Julia, mysterious parts and things that make you go, hmm, is right, lol

I have no patience for puzzles, but I think they look nice when they're finished.  As for your friend donating them rather than contacting you and shipping them, I always hate when that happens, it's such a loss.

Anyway, as for the 2 extras, maybe someone combined puzzles?

I set up my card table and do jigsaw puzzles in the winter, too, Julia.  It sure helps to pass the time and when my grandchildren come, we all get around the table and work on them.   They are relaxing, fun, and sometimes give me a headache.  hahaha  Really, I do like them.  Have fun!
