the only clothes of mine that need ironong are.......... oh, that's right,
i don't wear clothes that require ironing.
hang/lay flat clothes when damp ( i always hang my curtains damp) or fold when immediately out of the dryer. the ironing board will all but disappear for good.

Whacky, When i moved into this house in 1983, my aunt had left drapes
from the 70's for real. I took them to the cleaners, and they fell to shreds and rags! Lol Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, dear!

Throw it out, Whacky. I used to have one of those. Once I finally threw it out, I never missed it.

Get rid of the basket and switch to mini-blinds ...................
They're really cheap at home depot ($4 ea) and when they get dirty, throw them and buy new ones. That's what I do!!!! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Give Grandma back her blouse! (lol)

Whacky
I'm glad you got that straightened out. I was thinking along the lines of putting them in the bathroom, and turning on the hot water. I hate ironing.

Donate the clothes that you don't need. Buy and use wrinkle free attire.

When we washer our curtains...
They shrunk. Unfortunately, my wife had just hemmed them up so they wouldn't drag on the floor, well now they miss it by several inches! The basket of ironing sounds like good-will material to me.

Toss it
I have the "if you haven't thought about, needed it, or looked for it" over 6 months, it must be passed on to someone in need. Loved the curtain story - been there, done that.
