I think milk tastes way better in bottles, too. Not sure if it was only
a psychological difference, but they did taste better. Oh, and I never knew coke used to come in green bottles.

I didn't know that about Coke in Mexico.
Why wouldn' it be the same in all countries?  I do know that if I pour coke into a glass, it holds the fizz better than if I pour the coke ito a plastic cup. Now, why the heck does that happen?  I'm stumped.  Take care

Coke, its the real thing,

I think that refers now the the name.  You are right, it doesn't taste as good as it used to.

Whacky , I think you're right on.
I think ANY bottled soft drink tastes better than a canned soft drink.  And, on the rare occasion that I nab one in a bottle, it's a "real" treat.

I'm a Pepsi kinda girl, but . . .
I know exactly what you mean!  I used to love Coke in the green bottles!  I'd drink it almost every day!  These days, I just can't stand the taste of Coke.  Perhaps it's the formula.  Perhaps it's the aluminum cans.  Who knows?  Whatever it is, I just don't like it.

Hmmm, not sure.
but, that's because I am not a coke lover....I don't really like any fizzy drink.

You can still find the coke in those bottles......
It's just that it costs more....they're in stores like Cracker Barrels....old fashioned atmosphere......always in a steel tub full of ice water....and they do taste just like you remember them!  Hmmmmm!  Hmmmmmm!

I agree - Coke from bottles does taste better.
I was horrified to learn that Coke at the movies is made by mixing a syrup with water. (My brother worked there and told me.) I'm feeling very disappointed though, we only have Coke; Vanilla Coke; Coke Lite and Coke Lemon Lite(Yuck) here. Feeling a bit left out - I also want to try cherry and coffee coke. P.S. Decided to head back to Blogit - can't tell anyone that knows me about my driving experiences.

I used to find these bottles when I would treasure hunt. Sometimes, I'd go to makeshift landfills in the country and dig through them. I had some bottles from the 40's. They were very heavy. I remember even as a boy in the 70's these types of bottles. I think it does taste different now.

It is strange how coke tastes
different from country to country, yet it is supposed to be the same recipe. I much prefer coke out of a glass bottle as it does seem to taste different than the canned coke. Do you still get coke in a glass bottle? I know that in Zambia glass bottled coke is still around and you return the bottle for its deposit. The bottle is not green though, it is clear.

They did change the formula a few years ago but it bombed so they went back to the original which is now labeled classic..I am addicted to the stuff so I have to stay on top of my coke...

I think they lost the formula...
Now they're just winging it. The green bottles are probably collector's items now.

Whacky, I think it tasted so good because you only had to put a nickle in the coke machine to get one out.
