Tony, funny Bel was just writing about truffles..my favorites, Cadbury's we
do have in the drugstores, but also the boutique stuf, there is a store in Capitol Hil, the freaky/trendy part of Seattle, sort of like Soho maybe, called Dilettante Chocolates. Yum. I just had a bite of some Nutella, which I bought the other day.

Tony
All this because (like ha ha sweet 50 something women, as Troosha says) you come to realize that your sweet tooth is not worth the girth.

Blanche, interesting to hear you can get Cadbury's over there.
What about Hersheys, though? They smell and taste a bit strange to most of us over here.

Aha! I thought there'd be a few like-minded souls!
Nebdancer - a bowl of chocolate. Share it with us, can't you?
Wiley - Yes, dark chocolate is something we should all eat a little bit of - it's good for you.
Thanks everyone else, too.

Good post my friend. Like you I used to consume a lot of chocolate but since August have been struggling to get my weight down.
Now I've lost 28lbs but bought some dark chocolate yesterday, after watching Dr. Oz on Oprah, who said we need a small amount of dark chocolate in our diet for one reason or another.
That's all I needed to get a wee bit. Actually a lot, but I'll only eat a wee bit.lol

Nice poem - certainly brought back fun memories for me. I used to get my allowance on Saturday and immediately run to the Pic n Pay store. My vices were ice cream sandwiches, ice cream cones, sweet tarts and red licorice. I'd then retire to the school yard and eat it all. Ice cream is still my biggest weakness (she says as she sits here eating a bowl of chocolate) but since I am nearly at the half century mark, I try not to eat nearly as much as I'd like to!

A LAMENT.......
Very well done Tony, ah the middle catching up with us. I remember well the nickle Mars bars I use to buy in the PX, in what was formerly the beer hall for the cadets at the Waffen SS Officer's School at Bad Tolz. When I was a third grader, the 10th SF wore camies instead of black, but in the early 60s some of the membership of these two groups overlapped.. Amazing the childhood memories one retains.
