Whacky
Yeah I have a very old favorite~They haven't renovated it for 50 years. Geez, I hope they don't make yours into a Wal-Mart..Isn't that one of the deadly sins?

the vancouver library is way too large for me, i can never relax there.
not that i'm practiced in numerology but it would be interesting to know/"read" the address of the place across from your library that is unable to retain a business, which way does the business face, and if there is both a front and back door, does a straight line run from one to the other.
perhaps it would be more successful as a mortuary!

The nearest library would be the favorite.

Everything always change... I hope it won't be for too long. Is there an
alternative that you can go to? We buy books and to say the truth do not really know of a library here but we do not have time to go in anyway. I love reading but do not get the time, Mr Tanga is the bookworm among the family.

Hi Whacky, 5 months is a lonnnnng time! Hopefully they can
remain open during renovation...I suspect it could get quite noisy in there though, what with the pounding and the like! Change is a constant...Adjusting to it is a constant pain!

Whacky, that's terrible, I hope that it's not closed for the full 5 months
How are you expected to go 5 months without a library? I love being able to order online at any branch and picking the book up at the West Seattle branch, so I'm not stuck with just the stock on hand.
I'm sure Walmart will do all right, they've metastasized all over the country, you couldn't kill it, it's like crabgrass.

Ah the dreded Change Syndrone. I agree, lets keep it simple. New computers, listening rooms, research areas, large bathrooms, display areas for local artists, Who needs that stuff. (tongue in cheek).LOL
The sign was posted, writing on the wall, appropriate for a book place, eh?
You are a hoot, thanks for the post.

I hope they don't change it too much, either Whacky. I have a hard time getting to the library, which is why I joined a book club.
