Happy is the man or woman who've discovered how little material things
and the opinons of other people matter, Lionladroar, that is freedom and it is sweet indeed.

I love the hopeful feel of your poem.
It is full of optimism and lighthearted wisdom that only comes with maturity, (I did not say, old age, that is just too sad). Well done. I like the I am happy and I am lucky. You have learnt how to make the best of life.

Hi TAPS !
Yes TAPS I have mellowed but have always had a first for telling a story, what I am about too say will probably get me hung! Though I'm a fool at heart and know my place. So will throw the rope over the limb of the oak and carry on ! Most story teller writers I read of make myself think.
'' Michael why aren't you having a go? Because if these authors are successful why not you.'
I have been telling stories for my elders since the age of six and have had them in the palm of my hand even then mam. Its something I love, eyes opened wide waiting on your every breath, what twist will you take their imagination on next ? Power over grown ups was my wizard in the making. I just feel this path must be explored before I put these size ten feet up mam! What happened next is already happening though I must weight till the new year.
Thanks again TAPS for your comments and interest mam. Mike

This is a lot more positive than mine, Mike!
This is great, it really tells a lot about your life story, your motivations, the early tears of trial and error, and things kind of working out, which you appreciate - and that's important, that we appreciate the good things. Hopefully then you are now in a good spot and with firm foundations to pursue those ambitions in writing or whatever else. No-one can stop you pursuing them, either. maybe in the past, but not now. We all must take responsibility for making something happen - no-one else will do it for us. So come on, let's give it all we've got.

lionladroar, I don't know about you, but I find that the older I get, the more I feel as you have described in your poem. When I was younger, I worried more, was more concerned over what happened and who did what. I have mellowed in my older age.
