One minor point...
I've heard about this scandal, but haven't done serious research. But I do know this; Gorelick et al resigned because the huge bonuses they received were an embarrassment to the current administration, not because they had done anything illegal or were convicted (or even indicted) of any crimes.
Second thought, maybe it isn't such a minor point.
