WE have a winner!
Taps has identified The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs as my haunted hotel!

Whacky, I would never read anything by S.King at bedtime...I wouldn't be
be able to sleep in the Presidential Suite at a Ritz if I did!

I think I would have left the soap behind at that one
and maybe even searched out a new hotel

Whacky
Surely it wasn't the Broadmoor as much as one has to pay to stay there.

sounds to me like a replica of the "Bates Motel"
any sign of Anthony Perkins??.....

I used to know this stuff. I was a member of an SK fan club, oh my brain
is grieviously hurt from too much avoidance of thinking.

Bedtime, methinks.

Whinge
I think it is the Overlook...but somewhere the name "The Stanley Hotel" came into this story...Maybe the difference between King's novel and movie?

Is it 'The Outlook' or am I totally misremembering?

posted by Offy on December 16, 2006 at 5:07 PM | link to this | reply

the shining, i love that movie, totally gives me the creeps.  that and "misery".  what is it about the colorado mountains anyway?

Whacky Even without it being type-cast in the shining the

"Overlook" hotel is pretty scary...

Something about it being above/near the edge of the timberline is kinda creepy!  Boo!

Whacky--- I have no idea regarding your hotel. But I did stay in
a hotel in Manaus, Brazil (Tropicale), where some of the interior hotel scenes for " he Shining" supposedly were shot. Don't know if that's true, but it had long dark hallways and huge, dark wooden doors.

I think I would not stay there again if I were you.

I complained about a hotel once and the guy gave me a refund on it. You have to watch those hotel rooms. There's no telling what goes on in them.

I haven't a clue about the name of the hotel

Was it the Stanley Hotel?

If so, I hope you didn't stay in Room #401

I can't believe you actually stole soap from a haunted hotel, though.

"Heavily medicated."

Whacky. . ,
too funny that the housekeeper set the fruitbasket on the place where the nail polish was. . , as if she could make the stain go away that way!  LOL
