It's quite topical isn't it - everyone has a haircut at Christmas.

The David Bowie reference, in case no-one got it, was a line from 'The Jean Genie':

"She keeps all her dead hair for making up underwear."

Hair underwear, makes me shudder, after I laughed.

Yay haircuts

Loved this, it was fun to read, and too true. That is a very good question, where DOES it go?

Yaaaay David Bowie. =D

Tonyzonit

I like the image this brings to mind:

My arms and body ’neath a purple cape -

A superhero who couldn’t escape -

 - so even superheroes need haircuts? And I have no idea what David Bowie has to do with recycled underwear, though I do have quite a lot of his music.

There might be some pix of me at Christmas -
But I can't upload them to Blogit anyway! Sorry! You'll have to make do with Johnny Depp!

Hi Tony
That's a good one, "I sat, an armless ape, in near despair, thinking of recycled underwear". Many happy returns of the day for your daughter. Tell her I'll be there to partake of the B'day cake.

Hi Troosha and LovelyLadyMonk - what a great name!

I don't really know, Troosha. As long as something has happened during the day that I haven't talked about before, to get me started, the process just sort of takes care of itself. That's why I like doing sonnets - it's cheating, really. But who cares. As long as I have a method by which I can churn things out, that's the main thing!

Nice to see you too LLM!

Nice to meet and read you, Tony.  Cute sonnet!!

How do you do that?
You take a simple topic (like a haircut) and twist it into a whimsical sonnet.  You make it look or sound so easy....
