AG,
This was inspiration for me as well! My young-adult children quite often drop in to borrow. I've had some rough financial times recently and my mother has loaned me on occassion. My mother went through some rough financial times directly after my father passed on and my grandmother actually loaned my mother short term. My grandmother was in a quantry directly after my grandfather passed on and her brother stepped in to help her.....well, her brother recently passed on and his wife was having difficulty so my grandmother stepped in and my mother pitched in. Anyway, I've told my kids, don't thank me...call Uncle Bob and thank him! So, instead of recycling loans regularly, I think I'll write everyone a check just as you have here! Thank you.

Yes, I agree. Mine is up right now. I've heard it said that you have until the 10th to do it, according to tradition.

With money is the only way I'd heard this applied. But, you can make many visual things for goals, which work wonderfully.
I've heard that taking a picture of how you want to look (if you've gained weight), and stuck somewhere very noticeable is a very good motivator. A lot of people say that they looked so good twenty years ago, for example. Well, take that picture out and look at it. Hang it up. Focus. That is the key.

Hi Avant! Glad you have survived the flu that was surrounding you!
I like the idea of the check. I have tried everything else, maybe, just maybe this will work! Blessings for 2007 on you and the family!

I'd help you clear your drive if I were near. People round here have tractors with scrape blade attachments on them. I still do it with a shovel and lots of sweat.

Well, somehow I evaded that virus completely. Even my mother-in-law, who spent one afternoon last week, succumbed to it the other day. I feel very fortunate. I've been spending much more time with the kids, and less staring at a computer these days.

Avant--
I too have a similar check-writing thing I've done in the past. One involves writing a check to any debtor, the full amount owed, and visualing it as paid in full. I like this one as well. May it bring us both many blessings!
You've not been around much the past few days, I hope you have not succumbed to the virus. There is another post in "that blog you like." LOL.
Happy New Year to you and your lovely family!
