Crying
Moonspirit, thanks for sharing. Crying can be a mystery indeed. It can be so, so hard to break down in front of someone, but I think it's good for us, and you're right, I would see that as a personal triumph--both someone crying in front of me, and it would also be a triumph to cry in front of someone I care about it. It's scary to let happen, but it can be very freeing, and sometimes having someone to hold you, even if they don't know what to say, is so much better than sitting alone in an empty room where no one can hear you cry. Lord knows I've done that enough to know it's nice to get a hug sometimes.

Very true
Tonyzonit, you are so right. I already look back on some of the things I wrote a few years ago, and find it interesting to see what they tell me. I can only imagine what it will be like years from now, and if I'll look at this poem and still remember exactly what it means, exactly what I was thinking, exactly where I was sitting...

Another poem that really gets us in your head and your surroundings.
Just think what an interesting record this will be when you look back on it...

The mystery of crying - my friend - the one I write about in Urban Rituals doesn't like to cry and takes it as something awful to let anyone see her cry. It is a personal triumph for me that she has cried in front of me several times and allowed me to hold her a time or two. While I don't cry often, I have shed tears in front of her a time or two as well - she doesn't know what to do. Thanks--
Poetic_Soldier , thanks for the comment. That's very insightful... I hadn't thought about it in that way. I think you have a point though, whether I meant it that way or not. Thanks so much for reading.

i view your word in each verse in this order,                                                   1: life 2: pain/relationships 3: love/happyness. this is how i realated to them anyway.
