I hope you get better soon - those "bugs" can get nasty. And your doctor is right; doctors don't have any antibiotics for most viruses (the antiretroviral stuff for HIV being the sole exception I know of). Most laypeople go into doctors begging for antibiotics to cure a virus, refusing to acknowledge that most of the time, they go away with the help of a healthy immune system.
