Hi TAPS!
Yes TAPS abuse is there, but I was hinting more towards the neglect side of abuse. A father whom never took part in his childrens life, whom blamed failure on anything but himself, even the fact that he would have succeeded if he had never had them. Thanks again TAPS

Hi WaterKat!
Hope you and yours are well friend
Isabella the name I gave to the lady in my poem, just brings to mind all things Spanish that's why I gave her long black hair, more mysterious then blonde I believe. . . I will look up the poet you quoted Rod Mckuen I enjoy reading from other poets favourites, you sometimes get a hint of their inspirations. Hope I don't sound nosey lol. Thank you again for your review and encouragement. Mike

It speaks to me of a violent rebellion against a long childhood of the pain of abuse.

Wow….. what a powerful piece about coming to terms with negative legacy (if I caught your message correctly – forgive me if I missed the mark). Actually, it’s what I drew from it, right? And I saw Isabella freeing herself from the ball she didn’t want in the first place. Fabulous illustration as well, Lion!
