I love you too, Miss Mysterious One. I sure do miss your art and your
SAT quizzes. I am trying to hang in there. And yeah, I am really excited about school, but no straight A's. Solid B+'s though :) I am rusty, and there was always someone needing my attention. Now I am free to just work and study, and still know that the kids are getting daddy love and not stuck with a sitter or being told to entertain themselves. What a relief!!

RachelAnna and SYMPHONY, thanks for the comments.
It's not that I don't want to be here, so much as I have a hard time disengaging when I need to be doing other things. And as you saw in the previous comment, I am about to become the breadwinner in this family for a while. Maybe permanently, if I get a great job and he turns out to be Mr. Mom. LOL The house is already much cleaner. He's a darn motivated dad, I'll say.

You know, I didn't really have to drop the classes. I could've done the
dishonest thing that would have allowed me to progress in my degree and still work full time, which was have my husband do the work for me...he's going to be staying home for the next six months to avoid the cost of a sitter, regroup himself and be with his children while he has the benefit of unemployment. It just didn't seem like the right thing to do. All my classes are online, though, so I can't say I didn't consider the idea. He isn't allowed to go to school while he's on unemployment, or he'd start taking the classes himself. It'll be ok. I have a line on a job that pays very well, will allow me to work four days and get full time hours, and which offers 100% tuition reimbursement. I'll have to switch to either a business or nursing degree, but I'm ok with that. Either is applicable in this economy for a decent living. I can always go back to culinary arts when the kids are older and my husband is back on his feet in the workforce.

Sorry you had to drop the classes. Hope you get back soon.
Meanwhile, good luck on the job search. Have you thought of applying at a college or university if there's one in commuting range? Takes a while to get through the hiring process -- six weeks is minimal in my experience -- but if you get hired the pay is almost enough, there are benefits, and often you can take classes practically for free once you finish the six-month probationary period.
