I wonder if your friend checked the snow around where the small dog landed. If it landed in the middle of a drift, maybe it couldn't do anything other than pee in its place. LOL Did she check for a yellow spot upon lifting the dog up?? LOL

We don't have a weatherproof pet, Whacky, more like a shivering wreck of a pet. Samantha, likes to play in the snow. We were doing that yesterday in our first decent fall of the year. She lolloped about and rolled in the snow and then she decided she needed a pee. It was hilarious; for an animal that had been rolling in the snow, you should have seen the lengths she went to in order to keep her bum off the snow.

I just thought of something else but it's a little off the subject. My mom has a dog that is afraid of lightening bugs. Seriously! When her dog goes to squat and sees a lightening bug the dog moves somewhere else and squats again! It's hilarious!

Yep! I've got me one of them weather proof pets. Sully is part chow and part something else that we're not quite sure of. The same thing happens to him as to your dog. He likes the snow and doesn't mind the rain either!

Butterscotch (our Golden Retriever) is like that. But, he gets the snow clumped on the bottom sides of his paws, because they are furry, too. He actually limps around when it happens. Poor fellow.

whacky,
I don't own a dog. Your post gives me an insight to its behaviour. Thanks for the information.

Our cat...
Is weather proof all right, he stays in the garage till we get home and yowls till he gets in, whereupon he promptly curls up to rest from napping all day.

LOL--that poor little dog.
If I had the nerve to toss my cats out they'd probably run away. They're pretending that there IS no outdoors right now, and I'm betting they won't go near the door until spring. What can I say, they were CA kitties and now they're not too happy with me for moving them to the frigid northwest. ;-)

My female dog,
is so careful to stay dry. She lives in an outside pen with a large house. She stays inside leaving only for "necessary stops" and eating. Her fur is dense and wooly at the skin and you are right, they snow does not go there. Wish I had such hair.

We don't get enough snow here for him to be tested often, but Charlie seems to be somewhat weatherproof. He doesn't seem to mind snow and ice, but is ver reluctant to go out if it's raining hard.
