Congratulations!
I'm glad you were able to find love. 
When it comes to longtime engagements, I think they are a really good idea. That way, you're not stressed trying to plan a wedding in just a few months; plus, you have time to think about things and make sure that it is what you really want. I was engaged once and wound up calling it off after a year and a half; I was young, though, only 18 when I got engaged, and I matured a lot over the next year and a half and realized that I didn't really want what I had thought I wanted. Of course, you're not naive, so I don't think you'll have that problem!
