I wonder if we pay a price...
...for having such independence from one another in our culture (such as a car for each driver in the family rather than working together as a family to get places). This winter, I am insisting that the children and I spend more time doing things in the family room rather that everyone running off to their own rooms---this leads to much more conversation, maybe more conflict--but how we deal with conflict then comes into question, and I think we are all better for it....
