I learned to crochet once when I was pregnant in 1960. I made a pink and white lacy baby sweater, bonnet, mittens and booties--the prettiest that you have ever seen--for the baby girl I was expecting. I had a boy. The next year I had another boy. Two years later I had another boy. A year after that I had another boy. I gave the sweater set to a friend who was expecting. She had a boy. I don't know what ever happened to it but I never crocheted again.

Lady Ariela, who is an expert crocheter, was lamenting getting old to one of our Spanish neighbours. He thoought for a moment, grinned, then said " Ah yes! But it's better to get there than not, isn't it?"
Isn't that simple but profound?
