Powerful. The danger from weather/wind or the breathing, thriving humans?
I liked that U added a lovely picture. There are memorable lines as always in your original writing, Sir. Shalom

Thank you stbond
for your encouragement, I will write honestly of myself friend, I am that storm but instead of the hailstone and thunder as promised after the silence, I am just more silence, maybe oneday I will explode into the form I am meant in being, though have had many knock backs just as it looked I was in front. Knocked down and counted out in the last round. Please don't think I am feeling sorry for myself friend for I always get up again, at least thus far. Actually I'm up already from the last stomach punch of Dragons breath would seem integrity is silent before and after storms, as is friends. Though I am still up for a write on horror stbond if you are

What a storm and what a poem. . .
I think wild weather always reminds us of our ultimate powerlessness against nature or apocalypse. Maybe we should take it as more of a sign to do things better. . .whatever your definition of better is.

Hi Najwa, yes the power of Mother Nature
Kind of puts one in his little place, seeing the skies begin too tear apart yet there is no wind , still as if all the earths air had been sucked away yet we are still breathing though very slowly in anticipation knowing what is coming then BOOM ! Sound with the tearing of the clouds into shapes of angry face's. I picked up my step on my and up my garden path I don't mind telling you friend
Take care !!! Michael

Hi TAPS! Hope you are well friend
Tornado Ally sounds frightening, I have seen them twisters on the TV and thats close enough for me , I really don't think we have nothing on that scale here though there was a Tornado in Birmingham the midlands a couple of years ago that ripped off the roofs of a few streets of houses and sucked out the goods of shops, that were found a mile or two away. Back in 53 the 31st of January a force 11 storm pushed in land with the incoming tide breaking the Essex sea defences, next to Clacton on sea where I dwell some of the time, is the small town of Jaywick 37 lost their lives and 7000 were made homeless, further down the coast at Canvey Island Essex 58 drowned and the entire population of 11,500 made homeless also in our nabouring Suffolk many lost their lives in the low lying areas. Storms in January can still put the wind up people round this neck of the woods TAPS,
be well mam. Michael

Mike, I must bear some responsibility for the storm because
it happened on my birthday. Hope you didn't lose any slates or fencing. Me, i live in a flat so there's not much that can get damaged!

THE SILENCE BEFORE THE STORM, i had this experience 1985 on Florida shores and was for me the first storm I had ever seen then the hurricane
the day before the storm approached us the Gulf was dark gray color and it was very quite all the birds hundreds together on the Poles wires and no sound,,,,,,
,,,,,then every thing were the anger of the Gulf (ARNOLD)
Your poem is very unique and made me rememeber those days,,,

I have lived my whole life in "tornado alley" and this sure reminds me of many of my experiences. I've been through some bad storms and I know all about that calm before the storm and the yellow-gray-black sky with a greenish tinge to it. Great pictures and poem.

I agree Troosha
Though the storm we had here last afternoon and evening was the worst that I've seen or known in Essex since the 87 Hurricane. Also Essex once joined before it broke away from what is now Holland and like its old close friend is flat marshland not many hills here, ok for pushbikes, but if you get a strong enough wind on the incoming tide you have wet feet and I can't swim with wellington boots on mam
Thank you for calling though Troosha

There's a wonderful anticipation (or so I find) that comes with the
calm before the storm and an equally vibrant sensation when the storm hits. As long as I'm warm and cozy in my home, I enjoy a good storm. Beautiful photos....
