You might have done well in this meet. . , it might have motivated you. . , but, boy. . , I HATE these type of meetings. . , where management is expected to get all gushy-gushy with each other. . , share personal ideas, etc.  Ick!  Yuck!

Glad you were able to suceed in the day!

Malcolm,
'senior people' should be given due respect.

I think we all suffer a case of nerves when we have to speak....I wasn't very good at it, but about 4 minutes into it I got over the jitters...Glad it went well for you..

Bet you are really glad it is over!
Public speaking, even to people you know, is scary for almost everyone!

if blogit backdated your entry i guess they're in tune with your
"mental contact if not quite meeting of the minds" bit!

"friendly but slightly edgy" sounds good

Malcolm - I have the same issue with presentations but I often have to do
them.   It seems to get easier the more I do and being fully prepared makes all the difference in the world for me.

Malcolm
In keeping with the corporate philosophy of elevating people until they reach their own level of incompetence, I too found myself in a position where the Chiefs decided it was time for me to do presentations. I had been quite successful with my one on one or one on two presentations and my initial thought was “if it’s not broken – why fix it?”. But like you I gave it a try. I so bloody nervous that I wasn’t the least bit effective. The never asked me again. Besides which there was a bevy of people extremely qualified to pubic speak and most of my clients would rather hear them anyway because they saw me on a daily basis…..
