Nice to see you all - thanks for dropping by!
Now to stir my mind into something for today, before I get too tired.

Tony - thanks for upping my expectations with your return..
I understand where your poem is coming from...yet why do we have to punish ourselves over & over like this?? Do we have to carry the full blame for who we are & what we become? tks for providing our daily dose...

Tony, ouch, that one felt like a reluctant confession.
Struck chords with me too.
And yes, I'd be that self same spanner, Cringe from Cork. Nice to be remembered, hopefully for the right reasons!

Never give up those dream-bubbles; they don't have to be delusions, they could be "delayed sonnets" waiting to be written. I found this quite thought-provoking. It's late, perhaps I'm rambling a bit. Going to dream a few bubbles :) Night night.

Hi Tony
"We drug the mind so we can float through clouds of dusty old delusions, stained with guilt and shame". A truly introspective sonnet. We keep doing that and, unfortunately, Fortune, therefore, never knocks at our doors.
Knock. knock...
Who's there?
"Fortune."
Can't be!
Why not?
Fortune knocks only once.!!

Wouldn't it be nice if we could numb or mask all our disappointments. I found this refreshingly introspective today (don't get me wrong - I enjoy your more playful sonnets) but this gave me something to sink my teeth into. Welcome back!

It slows us down, it makes the voice less loud
I wrote a poem once and the lines went
"your critc shrieks
it squeals and it squeaks"
My critic now leaves me alone
My intuition I have honed
I have looked at stuff that used to drug me
Lost a lot that used to bug me
I used to thrive on drama
create for myself a panorama
Now I realise this was just a
decoy
another
excusing deploy
My drug you know
was just avoidance
Do anything to flit off
into a dance
One that would take my thoughts away
from the truth I fled from everyday.

Good to be back really!
I'd often visited the recently posted blogs each day, but never did see yours. I was always forced to read again and again your old postings. It's good to read one's master. It's good to be back! I wouldn't say this sonnet is interesting, because I know it's always interesting.
Welcome back, sir!
